Inland Empire Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk

On April 28th, 2012 Nongshim America (NSA) employees along with some family members met at the Rancho Cucamonga Headquarters facility to have a little breakfast before heading out to a charitable event. As breakfast wound down, the fresh scent of sunscreen filled the air. The crowd moved toward the entrance of the facility for a brief explanation of the schedule for the day. Cars were filled and everyone caravanned over to the Inland Empire Multiple Sclerosis (MS) walk/run.

Nongshim is the one of the leading noodle manufacturers in the world. Nongshim produces many different styles of noodles, plus, the most iconic and popular noodle – Shin Ramyun. Nongshim has always supported its local community with donations and recently, increased its generosity to include volunteer work. Nongshim has an annual plan to assist local community organizations with its volunteer needs and on this day, Nongshim assisted the National MS Society. This fundraising event was held at the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes stadium parking lot and their goal is to bring us one step closer to world free of MS!

The first group served as the Spirit Group. The Spirit Group was located at the Start/Finish line and assists in the presentation of medals to all of the walkers/runners. Their main goal (the Spirit Team) was to cheer on the participants as they completed the walk/run. Some of the NSA volunteers live in the surrounding communities such as Chino, Chino Hills, Pomona and Fontana. All of them are here to support the company and its efforts so show support for the great cause such as The National MS Society.

Several people from our group also participated in the walk. They could choose from a 1 mile or 5k walk/run. “It’s a great day for a walk” said William Zuniga, Production Manager for NSA, who brought along two of his boys. He later said “This is a great event and a chance for me to spend some time with my boys!”

It’s beneficial for the public to see a company such as Nongshim outside the shelves of the local stores. This was a great overall experience for the company, and Nongshim looks forward to future events.

The National MS Society is still collecting donations for this event. If you would like to donate directly to them, please go to Inland Empire MS Walk 2012
